This commission to raise awareness of the lesser horseshoe bats of Glynllifon was realised by Siân Shakespear who:
- researched into the qualities and habits of this rare bat
- held awareness raising sessions with the pupils of Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle, Ysgol Gynradd Llandwrog and Ysgol Gynradd y Groeslon
- helped the artist Dominic Clare to hold art workshops with the pupils
- created a temporary display of the pupils’ artwork at the local library
- wrote bilingual verses to convey essentials about the bats and their protection to be displayed on interpretation panels
- devised the concept and worked with a sub-contractor to design the panels incorporating artwork by some of the pupils
